Michael Rosenberg
Michael Rosenberg is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and the founder of Mantis Jiu-Jitsu in South San Francisco. He began training in 2011 and has since dedicated over a decade to developing his skills on the mat and helping others do the same. Known for his structured approach, Michael has earned multiple IBJJF medals and specializes in teaching both adults and kids with a focus on real progress through technical precision and live application.
After earning his Business degree from San Francisco State University in 2015, Michael committed himself to training full-time and began teaching shortly after receiving his brown belt in 2018. He was promoted to black belt in 2022, and has since built a program rooted in fundamentals, competition-tested techniques, and consistent growth for students at every level.
At Mantis Jiu-Jitsu, Michael combines traditional discipline with a modern, student-focused mindset. His classes offer a clear path from beginner to advanced, with emphasis on guard work (especially spider guard), positional control, and situational sparring. Whether you’re looking to compete, learn self-defense, or just get in shape, Michael provides a welcoming environment that prioritizes safety, learning, and long-term development.
